Rugby Original

Bostik Rugby Original is an all-purpose contact cement adhesive made from synthetic rubber. It forms a strong initial bond that gets even stronger over time, and holds up against heat, water, oil and everyday wear. It works on a wide range of materials including rubber, leather, canvas and metal, making it a reliable pandikit sa sapatos for all kinds of shoe repairs. It is also toluene free, which is a reassuring choice for home use.

Instructions

Step 1: Spot and clean

Check the area of your sneakers that needs repair. Before you apply any Rugby glue for shoes, make sure both surfaces are completely clean. Remove any dust, dirt, oil or moisture from the sole and the upper. A dry cloth or tissue works well for this. A clean surface is the most important step for a strong bond.

Step 2: Apply to both surfaces

Apply an even coat of Bostik Rugby on both the inside of the sole and the corresponding area on the upper. This is a key step that is easy to miss. Applying the adhesive to both surfaces is what gives you a lasting hold. Use a tissue to wipe away any excess Rugby Bostik that falls outside the repair area.

Step 3: Let the adhesive set

Stick a small toothpick between the sole and the upper to keep them slightly apart while the adhesive dries. Let both surfaces air dry for 20 to 30 minutes. You will know it is ready when the adhesive feels tacky to the touch but no longer wet. Avoid leaving it too long past the 30-minute mark.

Step 4: Press together

Remove the toothpick and carefully align the sole and the upper before pressing them together. Once joined, press firmly by hand, applying even pressure across the full surface. For a stronger result, place a heavy object, like a stack of books or a table leg, on top of the shoe. Let it cure for 24 hours before wearing.

Step 5: Strut

Your sneakers are ready. Step out with confidence.

Good to know before you start

Rugby for shoes works best when used in a well-ventilated space. Open a window or work outdoors if possible, as the adhesive contains flammable solvents. Keep it away from open flames or sparks during application.

If any excess glue gets on the surface of your shoe, remove it immediately with a suitable solvent cleaner before it dries. Once cured, it is much harder to remove. Store the bottle with the cap tightly closed after use, away from heat sources. Kept properly, Bostik Rugby Original has a shelf life of 12 months.
