The product is heat-stabilized, flexible and stable at temperatures up to 317°C. It is also highly resistant to oil, transmission fluid and antifreeze. It has high tolerance to vibration and adheres to glass, metal, wood, painted surfaces, silicone rubbed and some plastics.
The consistency of the uncured material enables high application rates, making it ideal for both manual and automated dispensing.

Bostik Gasket Sealant Red is a high-performance, formed-in-Place Gasket (FIPG) material designed for sealing flanged joints in transmissions, compressors, pumps, and other equipment exposed to vibration, thermal cycling, and fluid contact.
Since the composition of the substrates can vary greatly, adhesion tests for specific case are advisable.
Bostik Gasket Sealant may also be used for:
- Assembling valve and timing cover, crankcase, radiator and thermostat.
- Bonding gaskets in heating and cooling systems appliances.
- Sealing connecting joints, flanged pipe joints.
- Repairing cables.
How to use
- The substrate must be dry and clean (dust and grease free). It is recommended to wear gloves during use.
- Unscrew cap, pierce film with reverse side of cap. Cut to desired bead size, screw nozzle onto tube.
- Apply an even bead to all sides of the gasket (2-4mm). Refrain from repositioning once the skin has formed.
- Tack free time 8-15 minutes after application. Sealant fully cures in 24 hours.
To obtain a smooth and neat finish, apply masking tape and remove before sealant cures. Paint surfaces completely before applying sealant.
Ensure good ventilation if used indoors. Contact of vulcanized silicone sealant with eyes and mucous membranes must be avoided as this will cause irritation. Prolonged contact with eyes, flush with water and consult physician. Keep out of reach of children.
