How to use

Preparation

  1. Always open and use our PVA adhesive over a protected work surface
  2. Ensure the surfaces to which Bostik PVA white Glu is to be applied are clean and dry

Application

  1. Twist the blue part of the nozzle anti-clockwise, then gently squeeze the PVA glue bottle and spread the glue onto one or both surfaces
  2. For non-absorbent surfaces such as plastic, allow the glue to dry for a few minutes before pressing the surfaces together
  3. After use, turn the nozzle clockwise to stop the glue from drying out

How to remove PVA white Glu

Any excess glue can be removed by using a damp cloth and wiping it away before it dries. You can also wash PVA white Glu out of clothes using warm soapy water, ideally before the adhesive is dry.

If the glue has dried, you should remove as much of the glue as possible before soaking the stain in cold water overnight. Then, take the fabric from the water and massage a laundry detergent into the stain - using gloves to protect the skin if necessary. To finish, wash in the washing machine as normal.

FAQs

Does PVA Glue dry clear?

Yes, Bostik PVA Glue normally dries clear once it has fully cured. Although the adhesive appears white when first applied, it gradually becomes transparent as the moisture evaporates.

The final finish can depend on the thickness of the adhesive layer, the material being bonded and the drying environment. Applying only the amount needed can help achieve a cleaner result.

Can PVA glue stick to leather and fabric?

Yes, Bostik PVA Glue can stick to leather and many fabrics, making it suitable for light-duty and craft applications.

For stronger, more flexible and longer-lasting repairs, a specialist adhesive is recommended. Bostik Leather Repair is designed specifically for leather and imitation leather, while dedicated Bostik Fabric Repair is better suited for demanding fabric repairs and applications.

How long does PVA glue take to dry?

Bostik PVA Glue reaches full cure in approximately 12 hours on paper and card, and approximately 24 hours on wood.

Drying and curing times can vary depending on the materials being bonded and the application conditions. For best results, use Bostik PVA Glue on clean, dry surfaces and apply it at temperatures above 15°C.

Is PVA glue a liquid?

Yes. Bostik PVA Glue is supplied as a liquid glue in an easy-to-use plastic bottle with a resealable cap. It is ready to apply straight from the bottle and can be used for arts and crafts projects, modelling, woodworking, school projects and other simple creative tasks.

Is PVA glue the same as school glue?

Bostik PVA Glue is suitable for school projects and is ideal for both schools and home, but it is not described as “just school glue.” It bonds to fabric, but it is not described as the same as fabric glue. Information about leather glue is not available in the provided source.

Bostik PVA Glue is described as a multi-purpose, solvent free white glue and as a general purpose PVA glue, but the provided source does not state that all multi-purpose glues are PVA glues.

What is a PVA glue used for?

Bostik PVA Glue is a general purpose PVA glue suitable for most arts and crafts projects. As a craft PVA glue, it can be used for scrapbooks, card making, modelling, and school projects. It can also be used to make slime, create a glossy finish on projects, or be mixed with powder for finger painting.

What is PVA Glu?

What is the difference between PVA glue and other glues?

Bostik PVA Glue is a solvent-free, general-purpose adhesive that dries clear and is commonly used for arts, crafts, school projects and creative activities.

What is the shelf life of the adhesive I have bought and where can I store it?

The shelf life of adhesives varies from product to product, but typically ranges between one and two years from the date of manufacture when unopened and stored correctly in dry conditions - usually between +5°C and +25°C. Once opened, the life of the product will be more limited – this is dictated by variables including the type of adhesive, how it is stored, and how much adhesive is left unused. For more information, refer to the product’s Technical Data Sheet.

What materials does PVA glue stick to?

Bostik PVA Glue can bond to a range of porous materials, including paper, card, wood and fabric, making it ideal for arts, crafts, school projects and hobby applications.

For materials such as leather, use Bostik Leather Glue, while Bostik Fabric Glue is a better choice for fabric repairs and textile projects that require greater flexibility and durability.
