How to loosen a stuck bolt

How do you unscrew a bolt that won't budge?

You know the scenario. You have to loosen a bolt that hasn't been touched for years. Or you need to change a tyre on your car, and the last person who tightened those nuts made sure they were not going to go anywhere. Try as you might, but you simply cannot loosen it. That bolt seems to be rusted in place.

What can you do?

What can you use to loosen a seized nut?

BOSTIK to the rescue!

In BA940 Premium Multi-Use Spray, you have a game-changer: an 8-in-1 bio-based spray that can solve many problems around the house.

Loosen stuck bolts. No dramas.

Instructions

Step 1: Shake the can vigorously

As is the case for most products that come in cans, you’ll need to shake it well before using it.

Step 2: Apply the spray thinly and selectively

Use the nozzle to direct the spray directly to the nut or bolt that you wish to loosen.

If it’s a nut, you’ll want to make sure the spray gets between the nut and the bolt thread so that it can work its magic. Especially focus on any areas of rust that you can see.

If you are trying to loosen a bolt head or a set screw, direct the spray to the edges of the bolt head where it comes into contact with the surface to which it is clamped.

Note: the 300ml can has two options: a standard head with a directed nozzle, or a 360-degree Cobra Head. The Cobra Head has a wide spray option and a precise application nozzle, and the spray can also be applied upside down.

(The 150ml can comes with the standard head only.)

Step 3: Leave the product to act

Give it a few minutes to go to work on the rust or whatever it is that is making the bolt difficult to budge.

Step 4: Clean the area with a cloth

Use a cloth to wipe up any excess spray.

Step 5: Now try loosening the bolt

It’s amazing! You’ll wonder what the problem was.

And then you’ll be amazed at how good BA940 is at loosening nuts and bolts.

And then you’ll start looking at BA940’s other 7 functions and think about where else you can use this wonder product.
