How to use
- Fit the metal stand onto the front of the gun in the slots by the nozzle
- Load a Bostik Craft Cool Melt Glue Stick through the grip ring at the rear of the gun
- Press the trigger several times until the stick is positioned firmly in the gun
- Plug in the gun and a light will come on at the rear to indicate that it is in operation
- Rest the gun on its stand and allow to warm up for approximately 5 minutes
- Ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean and dry
- Press trigger until adhesive flows from nozzle. To ensure a continuous flow of glue, insert further glue sticks into the rear of the gun and wait a few minutes until the stick has heated to the correct temperature. DO NOT FORCE THE TRIGGER
- Apply adhesive to one surface. Press surfaces together within 15 seconds. Use of clamp or other holding device is not necessary
- Unplug gun when finished and allow to cool before storing. Surplus glue stick may be trimmed off using a sharp knife. Do not pull glue sticks from the back of the gun as damage may occur

Are glue gun sticks toxic?
No, Bostik Hot Glue Sticks are non-toxic and suitable for a wide range of craft, hobby and DIY applications.
Although Bostik Hot Glue Sticks are non-toxic, the melted adhesive and glue gun nozzle can become very hot during use. Always follow the product instructions and take care when handling hot adhesive.
Can I use any glue sticks with my glue gun?
No - using the wrong glue sticks could block and damage your Bostik glue gun. We have three variations of glue gun, Handy Hot Melt Glue Gun, DIY Hot Melt Glue Gun and Craft Cool Melt Glue Gun and each of our glue guns have specific glue sticks that are available.
Bostik glue gun sticks are sold as individual packs of 14 Hot Melt Glue Sticks or 26 Cool Melt Glue Sticks.
How do you remove a stuck glue stick from a glue gun?
If a glue stick becomes stuck in a glue gun, unplug the glue gun and allow it to cool completely before attempting to deal with the blockage.
Bostik Glue Guns are designed so that the glue stick remains in the gun during normal use. To help prevent blockages, avoid forcing glue sticks into the gun and always use the recommended glue stick type for your model.
If the blockage cannot be cleared safely, refer to the product instructions or seek further assistance rather than forcing the glue stick through the gun.
How can you make a glue gun last longer?
The lifespan of a glue gun depends on how it is used and maintained.
A glue gun may stop working properly if glue sticks become clogged in the channel or if the gun is used incorrectly. To help keep your glue gun working effectively, use the recommended glue sticks, allow the glue to fully heat before use, and always place the gun on its stand while in use or cooling down.
Following the manufacturer's instructions and using compatible glue sticks can help reduce the risk of blockages and premature failure.
Is the glue from a glue gun waterproof?
Yes, Bostik Hot Glue Sticks produce a waterproof bond that is highly resistant to water, temperature variations and many common solvents.

What is the difference between a hot melt glue gun and cool melt glue gun?
The Bostik Handy Hot Melt Glue Gun and DIY Hot Melt Glue Gun operates at a high temperature and is great for providing an ultra strong, long-lasting bond for challenging materials such as polypropylene, plastics, ABS, acrylics and even metals.
The Bostik Craft Cool Melt Glue Gun operates at a lower temperature and is commonly used for bonding heat-sensitive materials such as styro-foam, ribbon and polystyrene, which a hot glue gun could melt. Plus, with being cooler, they can be safer to use, which is great for younger crafters or in school environments.
What is the operating temperature for a glue gun?

What does the term 'viscosity' mean?
Viscosity is the measure of a fluid's resistance to flow. The higher the viscosity of a liquid, the thicker it is and the greater the resistance to flow.
Glue can be various measures of viscosity, with each measure having it's own benefits based on the application required. Low viscosity glue will spread easily, whereas high viscosity glue is ideal for vertical surfaces or areas that need a concentrated application.
What is the shelf life of the adhesive I have bought and where can I store it?
The shelf life of adhesives varies from product to product, but typically ranges between one and two years from the date of manufacture when unopened and stored correctly in dry conditions - usually between +5°C and +25°C. Once opened, the life of the product will be more limited – this is dictated by variables including the type of adhesive, how it is stored, and how much adhesive is left unused.
